This book has very little substance to it. It is of the kind that keeps promising to you that very soon, in the next chapter, on the next page, you are about to read something very interesting and helpful---and then never gets to it. "CBT is very helpful! It is very effective. It is effective, because you will find that it very effectively helps you. You will see in the next chapter how effective it is. Also just stick to it, keep working hard and refer back to this book if needed, and you will be fine" -- that's more or less how it goes.

This was a good book for those people who do struggle with social anxiety. The best part is that it identifies the thought process of social anxiety, and then teaches how to re-train the brain away from those patterns. I do not think I personally have a social anxiety disorder, but living as a shy and fairly introverted person, I found it helpful to identify my own thought patterns and apply them to situations where I do feel overwhelmed by the social impulses around me.*I received this book free for my honest review.*

I received this item free to review in exchange for my honest opinion. This book was a great read, specially if you're someone who is suffering from diagnosed, or undiagnosed Social Anxiety. There were a lot of insight in this book that I had never really thought about before. I felt this book really breaks down the anxiety disorder and allows you to determine what causes your anxiety, and if social anxiety is the one you suffer from. There were a lot of coping skills that you can practice when you feel yourself getting anxious. If you're looking for a book that really breaks down the disorder this is a good book to start with.

This is a very good educational tool for anyone struggling with social anxiety or for someone who wants to know more about social anxiety. This book discusses how SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder) is diagnosed, what the physical symptoms are, what panic attacks are, common situations that cause anxiety such as giving a speech or going on a date, body responses to anxiety, and how to think to help cope with social anxiety. It discusses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and ways of thinking positively to overcome or at least cope with social anxiety. This book gives a lot of ways to deal with social anxiety on a day-to-day basis. It really focuses on exactly how to deal with social anxiety and gives tips depending on the amount of time you would like to spend on it a day (i.e. 5 min, 15 min, 30 min) for each strategy. There are also a lot of different options so finding what works for you would be easy to do with the help of this book.

I recognized my SA in high school and am now 33. I've been working on all this over the years. Good to know it's not something that goes away, you just learn to deal with it better. Also, I was recently diagnosed as deficient in vitamin B and this book specifically says you need extra vite b for social anxiety.
